Field Trip To Fiber Circle

What a fun opportunity today for Yarns of Hope as the group had one-on-one time with Diane, the owner of our favorite yarn store in Farmersville: Fiber Circle.

In addition to browsing and purchasing some beautiful yarns for new and exciting projects, Diane also gave us a demonstration on finger knitting and how using the i-cord technique can be incorporated with other novelty yarns in new trendy projects such as scarves and wraps.

Looking forward to the next field trip and seeing all the wonderful projects come to life from these exciting yarns!

The Weekly Stitch / Field Trip

Good Monday to all of you!

I trust that all of you moms had a great Mother's Day!  I enjoyed a relaxing weekend up at the lake, even got to finish a knitting project!

Tomorrow morning is our field trip to Fiber Circle.  We will meet at the church at 10AM in the Connection (large open area just outside of the Hospitality Room).  We will caravan/carpool out to Farmersville.  Diane will have a special craft for us then we will have time to shop.  Afterwards, I suspect that there will be quite a few that want to stay for lunch at one of the restaurants in downtown Farmersville.  Should be lots of fun.  IMPORTANT - IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON GOING WITH US, PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO WE WON'T LEAVE WITHOUT YOU!  Also, my cell phone number is 972-658-0576 in case you need to call me.

Wednesday - Meeting at 6:15 in the Fireside Room.  We will have childcare for the next two weeks. Childcare will resume in early August along with the regular Wednesday night activities at the church.

Current projects:
  • Chemo caps and scarves - for adults, kids and babies.  To be donated to Texas
  • Oncology McKinney, Medical City Children's Hospital, and UT Southwestern Moncrief Center.
  •  Blankets and knitted/crocheted toys - to be donated to Medical City Children's Hospital.
  •  Bereavement Preemie Items:   Gowns, sweaters, hats, and blankets to be donated to Medical City Children's Hospital Labor & Delivery Department.  Items should be in pastel colors and sized for a 2 pound preemie.  Also, the nurses have requested 2 or 3 gowns or sweaters in a newborn size.  Let me know if you need help with patterns or sizing.

God bless each of you
